Temptation has Flexiwire rather than ordinary stiff underwire. This distinction is important:
- Rigid underwire stays locked in place and may squeeze the milk ducts
- Flexiwire is a thin, pliable wire that moves along with the changing shape of your bust
According to the Australian Breastfeeding Association, maternity bras with flexible wire are "less likely to cause problems" compared with rigid designs. In addition, the side-sling clip drops the cup completely open at feeding time, so nothing presses on the breast while you nurse.
We suggest this nursing bra either in early pregnancy or after your baby arrives, once your milk has come in and your size settles down.
Lots of mums wear it for the entire pregnancy and carry on into nursing because it adjusts so well. The 6-hook closure on Temptation stretches +7cm, so it grows along with your ribcage.
Our advice is to skip any kind of wire during the first few weeks after the birth.
For the best fit, go by your measurements from late pregnancy. Temptation has a roomier cup, so if you are less full on top, go down a cup size. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger for comfort and space to grow
